Job 38:31

Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,  Or loose the belt of Orion?
Job 38:31

There’s a gem of Scripture found in 1 John 3:1 that says, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” We have a very real enemy who prowls around doing whatever it takes for you not to believe this word of the Lord. So, let those heaven-inspired words fill your heart and help you think about your true worth in the grand scheme of things. The same awesome God that made the fantastic, awe-inspiring stars that light up the deep night sky also created you to shine and be a constant light in this world of darkness. The enemy seeks to dim your light with lies. He tempts you to focus on life’s failures, misunderstandings, and desires that are not eternal.

God’s child, Job, found himself in this very pit of temptation. He carried extreme grief in his soul from losing his family and everything else he held dear. People close to him tried to dim his light with words and advice that kept his eyes on the darkness of loss instead of the Light of heaven. God, being good and faithful, intervened in a very loving and personal way. He spoke a series of powerful questions to Job, not to shame the hurting man, but to lift his heart and eyes up so he could see the truth that was all around him. Even though we are thousands of years removed from this event, we can still hear the Lord’s powerful love say, Job, I was the One who placed each star in the sky and I alone was the One who gave them light to shine. Please believe Me when I say I love you more than all of them. You are my precious child and the power I used to create the constellations is the same power I give you to shine.

Friend, as you consider these words, let each star you see be a holy reminder of God’s love for you. Let each one remind you that you, too, are seen and adored and bear the fingerprint of the Creator. Let that reminder be enough grace to help you believe that God is for you and He is enough.

Heavenly Father, all-powerful and mighty God, thank You for Job’s story. It reminds me that You don’t make mistakes and are intentional. You are the God who cares about everything I’m going through. Help my heart shine so people around me may see and know Your great love. Amen.
