Jonah 2:1

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9

The greatest example of waiting with God is Jesus Himself! From the beginning of creation, He waited expectantly and lovingly to be born. He waited to come into this world and begin His ministry. Then He waited in the garden, praying to His Heavenly Father for mercy. And then He rose and eventually went back to His throne in heaven, where He waits to return again.

Jesus came to earth and waited so that everyone would have a chance to be loved by His perfect love. Today He waits for the unbeliever to open the door of their heart and let Him in. Today He waits for His precious children to believe that waiting with Him is so much better than forging our own path in life.

There are so many lessons Jesus has for us. Even in the daily grind, even in the sea of unanswered prayers, even in the darkest sorrow, even then His Presence is greater! He will never leave you alone and He will always love you and shower your heart in grace. He will keep you close and teach you things that will radically fill your heart as you wait with Him. You mean the world to Jesus and He wants you to never forget it!

Jesus, thank You for everything. Thank You for being my King and being with me while I wait. Please help me embrace the in-between. Jesus, help me love and serve and know that You were never letting go of me during the in-between. I pray that You will help me glorify You more because of the waiting.

What is God giving you today as you wait with Him?
