Romans 5:2

Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
Romans 5:2

One glorious day, we will have the chance to finally look at Jesus, face to face. The only thing we should want to say to Jesus is that we put Him where He belongs: on the throne of our hearts. The enemy knows this and tries, and never tires, of asking God’s children to believe in unanswered prayers and dashed dreams, low self-esteem and depression, anxiety and questions that don’t seem to have answers. He seeks to lead us to those stressful feelings and tempts us to keep our eyes on them so that our hearts will quickly follow.

But Jesus is worth more. He is worth everything. He alone gives us the strength to turn our eyes away from the lies, and onto the sea of His glory, where the sun never sets and His unfailing love reaches out and touches every shore! The Lord has promised us in His Word that this wonderful place isn’t just something we’re waiting on when we are finally with Him in heaven. Jesus allows us to experience this beautiful existence right here, right now, because He is here, alive and well!

The woman at the well and the woman who used her strength to fight through the gathering crowd just to touch the hem of the Lord’s robe understood the new life of underserved privilege. Jesus let these women experience the fact that with Him, our days are complete. With Jesus, we live with filled hearts, and meet each new day not from a place of fear but of favor. The woman at the well was an outcast, just like the lady in the crowd. Just like all of us. Having Jesus reign on the throne of our hearts gives us the strength to go to the well of His living water, and gives us the strength to reach out our hands in faith to hold onto Him and truly feel His unfailing love.

Lord, please give us a renewed hope to stand up with courage knowing you are here with us. Remind us who you say we are. Help us tell the world that you are good and worthy of praise. In Your holy name we pray, Amen.
