Not a Chance

Jeremiah 18:6

As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.
Jeremiah 18:6

The God who loves you is not a God who leaves his relationships up to chance or disorder. He thought of you and cheerfully created your life in His image. He is intentional because He wants you to know that He doesn’t leave anything up to chance. The prophet Jeremiah said we are like clay in God’s hands. He is is the potter who gently molds and shapes our lives so we can look and sound more like Jesus. Remembering this truth will help you know that you are safe in His hands despite what you are going through.

You are not a “chance” but an intention. God intended to give you life, and He intended to give you a Savior. God wants you to trust that His plans for you are better than anything you could create on your own. And when the enemy tries to sneak in and make you think that everything is random, and happening outside of God’s providence, resist the devil's lies. When hard things happen, God is there to lift you up. If painful news comes your way, God is there to comfort you. Jesus is not some skipped stone that sinks after so many hops, but rather the Rock on whom your feet have been firmly placed. He’s your fortress and foundation, forever.

The enemy wants you to see the hours before you as a meaningless burden. He wants you to feel wiped out and hopeless. God, on the other hand, is giving you the opportunity to trust Him, follow Him, and to believe He has good things waiting for you. Don’t wait for everything to feel good. Don’t wait until you have the one thing you’ve been praying for over and over again, but still haven’t received. Don’t let doubt stand in the way of today’s blessings. God is good. He gave you life today for a reason. Stand on the truth that you matter and that He adores you. You really are something special.

You, Lord, are the potter and I am the clay. Help me remember it isn’t the other way around. Thank You for creating me, not by some random chance, but because You wanted to create me and love me. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
