Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Genesis 50:20

Joseph was not liked by his siblings. He also had dreams which made his brothers despise him. At first, they wanted to kill him, but eventually settled on a way of staging his death and sold him into slavery. Joseph was only seventeen when his waiting with God began.

Not long after being sent away from home, Joseph was thrown into prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Instead of letting anxiety get the best of him, Joseph made use of every opportunity that came his way. He stayed connected to God and let his heart be changed in the waiting. In prison, Joseph met the cupbearer to Pharaoh, and two years would pass before Pharaoh needed a dream interpreted. The cupbearer remembered Joseph interpreted dreams and told the Pharaoh about him.

About thirteen years passed from the time his brothers sold him into slavery to when Pharaoh made Joseph the second-in-command in all of Egypt. To an outsider, all Joseph’s life looked like was prison and abandonment, but to God it was something much different. Joseph was placed strategically by God to prepare the land against a famine. In the years of Joseph’s waiting, he trusted God and the Lord blessed him and saved many lives through his faithfulness.

Lord, it feels like this isn’t going to end. I wish You would take it away. I know You have had this feeling, too. Please help keep my heart in your hands. Help me wait for You. Thank You for loving me.

What is God giving you today as you wait with Him?
